For Sacramento based singer-songwriter, léquan de mar, music wasn’t a dream; it was an awakening. Although growing up in a family of musicians, he chose a traditional corporate career path only to eventually realize his true love has always been music. After a singer-friend implored him to consider singing, he enrolled in professional coaching and rediscovered his passion. léquan began developing his artistry by working with renowned celebrity vocal coach Cari Cole. With her A&R mentorship across 2 years, he completed a 6-month signature songwriting intensive, implemented a rigorous Cole Vocal Method regimen, completed Vocal Freedom and Performance Circles, and is an active member of the Artist Sanctuary community of worldwide musicians. In 2023, he released his first single, “Father’s Day Card” which garnered 2,000 plays across platforms. The song elicited passionate responses from fans, with one fan stating, “That’s my part! Let me rewind it! I love how you made the song universal because this is a song I can play for my daughter who still texts her father’s old cell phone number.” Since the release, léquan de mar has continued to cultivate his craft and is currently working on a slate of EPs for 2025.
